iGot'em mentioned in the Silicon Caribe

iGot'em
A new US$3,99 iPhone app, titled iGot’em, will empower citizens and reduce crime and allow users to combat crime within their communities by uploading a recorded incident to the nearest law enforcement office. The application will notify law enforcement of the date, time, and location of the crime in progress. It was produced by Sharon Hodge, Trafalgar Solutions and former Caribbean resident.
The combination of this information along with the general images taken by users will allow accurate reporting, while protecting the identity of the user. Hodge credits her creative spirit and her love for the Caribbean to iGot’em. Born in Dallas, Texas, and raised in the heart of South Central Los Angeles, she is no stranger to crime. “Where I grew up, crime was rampant, protection was light, and citizens were too afraid to come forward. This same behaviour exists in countries throughout the world,” said Hodge.
Living in the Caribbean’s with her husband, remnant fears from her childhood brought an automatic sense of awareness and the will to fight for change.“By freeing citizens from the fear of retaliation, we might be able to catch some of our most violent offenders,” she said.
iGot’em is available for purchase through iTunes. Smart phone devices such as the Android and Blackberry will be added in the near future.

Do you think people will use this app?

Hopefully by using this app people we think about saving the life of another person when in need. Usually people will generally turn there back if they have witness a crime. Most people don't want to get involved but by using the app it keeps the app user anonymous. They don't have to get physically involved, they can report the crime and still walk away, but with sending help to the law enforcement before they leave the scene. This may in deed bring back the Good Samarathan!

HELP FIGHT CRIME WITH TECHNOLOGY

– Sharon Simmons, sole proprietor of Trafalgar Solutions is pleased to announce the launch of a new smart phone application. The new application titled iGot’em will empower citizens, reduce crime and allow users to combat crime within their communities by uploading a recorded incident to the nearest law enforcement office. The application will notify law enforcement of the date, time, and location of the
crime in progress. The combination of this information along with the general images taken by users will allow accurate reporting while protecting the identity of the user.

Simmons credits her creative spirit and her love for the Caribbean’s to iGot’em. Born in
Dallas, TX, raised in the heart of South Central Los Angeles, she is no stranger to crime. “Where I grew up, crime was rampant, protection was light, and citizens were too afraid to come forward. Consequently, this same behavior exists in countries throughout the world,” said Simmons. Living in the Caribbean’s with her husband, remnant fears from her childhood brought an automatic sense of awareness and the will to fight for change. “By freeing citizens from the fear of retaliation, we might be able to catch some of our most violent offenders” Sharon states.

Sharon Simmons is pleased to be expanding her role in the field of technology.
She is inspired by Steve Jobs’ passion for change, and with her entrepreneurial frame of mind and success, she has a great future in the development and design in software. iGot’em is available for purchase through iTunes. Smart phone devices, such as the Android and Blackberry will be added in the near future.

Sharon Simmons brings 30 yrs of logistic management experience to Trafalgar Solutions. With goals to combat crime as a concerned citizen Trafalgar Solutions presents our new product “iGotem iOS iPhone Application. This application is available in the iTune store today. Her ambition for the company is to combat crime using technology, to give individuals a sense of pride and to bring back the Good Samaritan in each of us. Technology now brings us to a point where we can report crime during real time altercations, thus helping our law enforcement with vital information that more likely would not be given in a standard situation.

Safety Assurance Crime Prevention:
A secure environment is made possible through community involvement in crime prevention. Due to the rapid growth of crime in our communities, Trafalgar Solution prides itself in creating a smart phone device to help combat crime. This application can also be used for retail loss prevention as well as creating a safer dining experience while the consumer is dining or leaving the establishment.

Scope:
The Trafalgar Solution Company would like to build a relationship with other businesses to join them in bringing businesses and our communities together using more sustainable and useful technology in preventing crime. All crime prevention initiatives should be sustainable Otherwise, the problem of crime and victimization will simply continue.  Most of us instinctively focus on the immediate problem and a short-term solution. It’s really a difficult task if not impossible for one community or organization to create a sustainable culture of crime prevention alone. So let’s create this environment together.

Methodology and Approach:
How we propose to move forward and make it happen on a long term basis? It takes long-term planning, targeted spending and effective partnerships. It means a repeated pattern of community and employees attitudes in wanting to help with persistence. It requires innovation, flexibility and sometimes a willingness to take risks. Bring back the “Good Samaritan” It’s actually up to the individuals and companies to execute cutting-edge strategies like this one, to move in the same direction as fast as technology is moving.

What inspired Sharon Simmons?
Four months ago she injured herself at work which caused her to be off from work. During that time news was spreading fast about murders in her husband’s Native Island. They seemed to be having an unusual increase in murders like someone was on a murder spree. Within eight months there had been 32 unsolved murders. Because the island is small with only 50,000 people, it affected many people.

Her husband’s 18 year old nephew was playing basketball with a friend when a man came up to him wearing a mask and pointed a gun at him for no reason. The nephew ran and was shot down while running. There were no witnesses. This was very heartbreaking knowing that her and her husband could not afford to fly back for his funeral.
She felt helpless and wanted to do something. So she thought why not create an iphone app that will allow the community to remain anonymous and give the law enforcement more information. The tools utilized were Google and the iTune store. After researching and finding an application developer she was able to accomplish my goal. The app was launched Sept 15, 2011. If you want to help people that have been victimized try iGotem. Help us combat crime by using iGotem!
